When to detach
Grillz are non-permanent hardware. Detach before you eat, before you sleep, and before you shower. Heat, food acid, and water all do quiet damage.
Detach in the gym, when you're working with your hands, and before you enter ocean or chlorinated pools. Salt and chlorine are aggressive on every alloy we use.
Detach when smoking. Heat degrades electroplate and accelerates oxidation on silver.
Operating ceiling: no more than 8 hours of continuous wear at a time.
Before you seat them
Apply perfume, hairspray, and cosmetics first — let them dry, then seat the unit. Alcohol and solvents in beauty products dull the surface and can damage stones over time.
Brush and floss before fitting. A clean mouth produces a tighter Snap-Fit and slows oxidation on silver.
Storage
Store each unit separately, in the soft pouch we provide or wrapped in a microfibre cloth. Metal-on-metal in a pocket or a single drawer scratches everything.
Keep them clear of perfume and solvents. Vapours alone are enough to dull a polished finish.
Cleaning // routine
Day-to-day: wipe with a jewelry polishing cloth. That's it. Most units never need more than that between deployments.
Weekly or after heavy wear: warm water, a drop of pH-neutral soap, soft toothbrush, rinse, dry. Skip toothpaste — abrasives degrade electroplate.
Monthly, or when chroma has dropped: an ultrasonic cleaner with water and a drop of neutral cleaner. Run two or three short cycles, not one long one.
Cleaning // special cases
Oxidised or blackened units: cloth only. Don't soak — you'll lift the patina you paid for.
Units with freshwater pearls, lapis lazuli, or turquoise: keep them out of any cleaning bath. The stones absorb solutions and discolour. Cloth and a dry brush only.
Heavily iced units: a soft brush and clean water are enough. Aggressive cleaners can loosen stone-setting adhesive on iced bars.
If something reads off
Oxidation on silver is normal — a polishing cloth restores chroma. If polishing fails to recover the surface, send the unit in.
A loose stone, a bent bar, or a fit that's drifted: stop wearing the unit and message us. Continued wear usually makes the fix more expensive.
Stones we set are covered for life. Workmanship is covered for 30 days from collection. The fit guarantee gives you one free re-calibration, and a full refund if the unit still fails to seat.
